THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON has monumental opening weekend

The second film in the TWILIGHT franchise, which will have audiences split as they root for Team Jacob and his band of werewolves or Team Edward and his fellow vampires, opened with a staggering three-day total box office of $142,839,137, landing it as the third highest grossing opening of all time behind only 2008’s THE DARK KNIGHT and SPIDER-MAN 3 in 2007.
