Shows with series veterans and A-list writers prove successful as ABC announces that four of its new programs have now been picked up for full seasons. Joining the roster for the rest of the season will be “The Middle” starring Patricia Heaton (“Everybody Loves Raymond”), “Modern Family” starring Ed O’Neill (“Married with Children”), the Bill Lawrence (“Scrubs”) series “Cougar Town” starring Courtney Cox (“Friends”) and the David S. Goyer (THE DARK KNIGHT) and Brannon Braga (“24″) hit “FlashForward” starring Joseph Fiennes.

“The Middle” airs Wednesdays from 8:30-9:00 p.m., ET on ABC

“Modern Family” airs Wednesdays from 9:00-9:30 p.m., ET on ABC

“Cougar Town” airs Wednesdays from 9:30-10:00 p.m., ET on ABC

“FlashForward” airs Thursdays from 8:00-9:00 p.m., ET on ABC
